The Birth of Patterni
Early on I realized that most Turing Patterns consist of a collection of contiguous forms. Some snake around in like complex tendrils, tightly interlocked with the rest of the pattern. Others are much simpler, shaped in little loops and hooks and sprouts. The smallest are mere spots. Some of the shapes had a curious effect on me; I began to see spirit beings, dancers, weird one-eyed birds, and organic plant-like forms. I could isolate these forms in Photoshop, color them, and paste them into new images. Some Iād cut out of paper and wood using my Cricut Maker 3. I dubbed them Patterni (sing. Patternus) just because I like to invent words.
